What are prediction markets?
Prediction markets let you trade on the outcome of real-world events. You buy shares that pay out if your prediction is correct. Prices reflect the crowd's estimated probability of each outcome.
How do I start trading?
Connect a supported wallet, use USDC on Base, complete the required jurisdiction and risk acknowledgments, then place orders on available markets.
What is USDC?
USDC is a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the US dollar. It's issued by Circle and used as the collateral currency for all trades on Blizz Markets.
What blockchain does Blizz Markets use?
Blizz Markets is built on Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 incubated by Coinbase. Network fees are usually low, but they can change with network demand.
How are markets resolved?
Markets publish resolution criteria before trading. After the deadline, the market owner can request resolution through the Blizz assisted flow, and the relayer submits the outcome through UMA where applicable. Emergency backstops exist for cases where normal resolution cannot complete.
What happens if a market isn't resolved?
If normal resolution cannot complete, the platform may use an emergency path described in the Terms and Refund Policy. Refunds depend on the market state and smart contract mechanics and may not equal the amount originally paid.
What can I verify on-chain?
Market creation, matched settlement, position tokens, and resolution transactions are publicly visible on Base. Off-chain order book and support systems are operated by Blizz Markets.
What are the fees?
Blizz Markets charges a 2% taker fee on prediction market trades. The order ticket shows the gross amount, fee, and net amount before you sign. Claiming a listed market requires user-funded seed liquidity and a creation bond. On Base mainnet, the minimum seed is 100 USDC and the minimum creation bond is 100 USDC, so the minimum total required is 200 USDC. There are no fees on market seeding or redemption.
Which countries are restricted?
Blizz Markets is unavailable in the prohibited countries, territories, and regions listed in the Terms of Use. These include the United States and its territories, the Netherlands, Turkey, Curaçao, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, Romania, Greece, Cyprus, Ukraine, Australia, Singapore, Colombia, Brazil, New Zealand, India, and comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions including Iran, Syria, Cuba, and North Korea.
